Thanksgiving with the Mc’s!

This year, for Thanksgiving, I was fully resigned to making a small meal at home (no oven so a whole roasted turkey was out of the question) for Fint and me.  However, with the awesome hubby I have…he took me out for a surprise dinner to celebrate his newly acquired holiday!   He found the fanciest Thanksgiving dinner available in KL and sent me an invitation to join him for this romantic night out.

Playing a turkey hunting game on iPhone while stuck in a traffic jam. (Time flew by!)

We dressed up and hit the town…weather was perfect…cloudy, raining, gray….a perfect autumn day to feel right at home.

The meal was exquisite!   I have since warned Fint not to hold that standard to me for future Thanksgivings….it will be a few years of practice needed…since I have yet to even cook a turkey in an oven.  I think that task is best left to the elders…who know what they are doing! (Just kidding mom!)

Our dinner menu was:
*Cod Mousse with Breadsticks
*Consume of roasted turkey and vegetables
*Lemon Sorbet
*Traditional Herb Rubbed Slow Roasted Turkey with Giblet Gravy
*Sourdough Bread Stuffing with Herbs, Chestnuts, Celery and Onions
*Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Caramelized Sweet Yams
*Sautéed Whole Brussels Sprouts with crispy Shallots and Almonds
*Fresh Cranberries
*Cheesecake with Pumpkin Mousse and Chocolate Truffle

This was such a lovely surprise; it was a Thanksgiving to remember.
