Here is our "theme song" for this years parade...it is the song we had playing while we danced and passed the judges....give it a listen while you check out the blog. :)
Happy Christmas!
What is more fun than decorating a Christmas tree? For us it's...decorating a Christmas Boat!!! We had such a fun time last year that we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be a part of the Christmas Light Boat Parade again.
We bought a ton of lights…got a bunch of fun light up things for
our guests and some holiday cheer drinks, cranked up the festive music and got down to the business of Christmas fun!
Picking out all of our lights...and some quality control.
Testing the daisy chain.
Christmas elf getting guests lights all set and ready to go!
Capt. Santa all geared up and ready to boat parade!
When we met our guests we were treated to some Christmas carols and even Santa and his "helpers" :)
I love Christmas!
Just making sure Santa understands my wish list this year...
Fint enjoying his visit with Santa. :)
Capt. Fint in the Boat Parade Captain briefing.
The Parade!
Competition was steep this year...all of the boats looked great!
Sorry for the photos...it is really hard to get photos of moving boats in the dark. So the photographer used flash...which ruined the effect of the Christmas lights. (So the boats actually looked much more lit up in person....everyone did such an amazing job decorating their boats.)
Can you spot the Monster? ;)
Our friends' boat...looked great! They had 2 Santa's one on the mast and one on the stern...they also had people dressed as a snowman and an elf on board! ;) So fun!
Big boats
Little boats
The Santa on our friend's stern.
Party boats! ;)
The judges weren't giving any clues as to which boats they were liking best...
The view from on board.
Lighting up the night!
And us!
The judges trying to decide on the winning boats...
The Award Party!
Getting our food on...
Gary explaining his winning strategies...
And it worked...they won 2nd in their category! Yay!
And we won 1st! Yay!! And Fint accepting the award...like a boss! ;)
But who was to win the best boat out of all of the categories?
Who would win the coveted BEST OF SHOW?
That would be us!!!!! Yay!!! We were so excited...we couldn't hide it!
Fint drinking the sweet nectar of victory! ;)
Yay!!!! Feels good to be Best of Show! ;)
Gary's boat also won the lucky draw for the wine box!
And we won the lucky draw for an amazing spa treatment...
which I plan on putting to good use! ;)
Photos from on board:
Now some photos from on our boat...we had an amazing group of friends on both nights...the cheering and laughs were abundant, and everyone got into the spirit and had a great time!
Doing some last minute repairs...just before we set off a strand of lights went out...
we fixed it just in time!
Such a fun time with friends!
Cheers!!
Cold drinks for capt Fin and first mate Jen after we were back on dock. ;)
Great group!
We had so many pretty lights...I'll miss them when they are down. ;)
Our Fishing Santa a board the "Yule Tide" ;)
Our star at the top of our "tree" ;)
Our life ring...wreaths. ;)
Our Best of Show cup....at the after party! ;)
It was another fun parade...and we loved every minute of it. From the picking out the lights and designing our theme...to the hard job of hanging them all and sweating like crazy...to the laughs and good times on board during the parade. Winning is always nice, but we don't go in it solely to win...we both love Christmas and we both love boats...so what a awesome way to combine the two and add a good time with friends to boot. Makes for a very unique Christmas party at our place. ;) Will we do it next year? Ohhhhh yeah! We are already planning our design theme....!!!!
