I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart’s core. -W.B. Yeats, The Lake Isle of Innisfree
Here is a short video of a bit of our trip....don't forget to watch in 1080 HD.
We left the spicy flavours and exotic
fragrant scents of SE Asia behind us for a few weeks, as we welcomed the calming flavours and
comforting earthy scents of the Emerald Isle. The fresh sea breeze brought a
chill that we hadn’t felt in months and months…and we embraced it. We savoured its
freshness into our lungs….no heavy humidity in this air; the air is light and
energizing. The pink flush of our cheeks was no longer from the intensity of the sun’s rays, but rather from the fresh,
sharp wind that wrapped us with its comforting chill. Our longing to feel this cool air was realized as we stood facing into its salty breeze…and it was brilliant. The wind itself was blowing a wonderful welcome home to us!
Beautiful Éire. I love this land. Its natural beauty, fresh air, rich history, and
peacefulness are everything to me. I
could stay here forever. I’m at home in its fairy hills, charming towns and
lush landscapes. It is my second home. I am at peace here….my mind is at rest…I am
in awe of everything this country has to offer.
I get lost in the wonderful and dramatic landscapes. The air is so refreshing, it smells of a
mixture of the salty Irish Sea and brown bread, and I love it. Did I mention I love it here? ;)
And not to be outdone by the land
itself…the most special part of this place, is our family. Coming home to warm hugs, cups of tea, and
the big laughs is the icing on the cake. And that cake this year just happened to be birthday cake!! We also celebrated Eugene's 80th birthday on this trip....lots of cakes, and goodies, and cheers all around!

So as we said goodbye to our family and Ireland for another year...we are sad to leave, but so thankful to have this beautiful place and our awesome family to come back to. Thank you to everyone for giving us so much of your time and love while we were in town...it means so much to us. We miss you all huge amounts and are counting down the days until we are having a pint together again! :)
