Fint is always full of surprises…so when he informed me to
pack my bags because on the 4th of July we would be heading to Bali for a long weekend,
I was ecstatic! Bali is one of those places so exotic and held in such high
esteem I have been dying to see it for myself. And it did not disappoint. Sunny days,
with an amazing sea breeze, fresh air, turquoise seas and blue skies, bright colourful flowers and exotic
scents everywhere; it is a place for all of your senses.

This trip was a gift intended for extreme relaxation, but we did get
some bike riding and sailing in...We fit fun and relaxing into the same holiday
weekend. It really was a bit of
paradise. We also found out that Bali
wine is quite nice….they import their grapes in and then make the wine
locally in Bali. The Two Islands Shiraz was among our favourites. It is called Two Islands because the grapes
are grown in Australia and the wine is made in Bali.

Bali has been called the Island of the Gods…because of its natural beauty and the amount of temples built on this small island (it is approximately 95
mi wide and 69 miles long). I can attest
to its beauty….as our weekend getaway there was beautiful in every way…and we hope to
get back someday soon for further exploring! ;)
It was another glorious weekend…full of sunshine, cooling sea breezes and luxe relaxation. We stayed at the beautiful Regent Hotel in
Sanur…that had lush tropical gardens, green and full of tropical flowers and water features. The resort spa was amazing and I received hands down the best massage I have had to
date. I would gladly stay in this haven
in paradise again. Every morning we were lightly awoken with the sounds of traditional music being played on a little Balinese temple, built on top of the structure hosts Balinese musicians, playing the soft soothing Gamelan music played on large metallophones;
which was nicely situated in front of our terrace (just to remind us were were in Bali!)….beautiful. (Pictured below)

A long weekend in Bali is just enough time to relax and rejuvenate....but I feel that I will need this level of relaxation again...and again...and again....
