Ireland Sept 2016

AMSTERDAM

Amsterdam is a city that I can get completely lost in and be completely happy.  I need no destination…no directions…no goal…I just let my feet go and I turn at random corners.  The result is always beautiful…always relaxing and always an amazing way to spend the afternoon.  I love to just roam about mindlessly along the canals with no intentions, except to take in the beauty and peacefulness of the city.  Which, this city is very peaceful.  It is a relaxed, quiet city.  As I think about it now…it’s pretty impressive how still one can be in the city centre.  I can sit along the canals and hear myself think….not common in most big cities.  Join me and watch this short video I made along my walks and meditations beside the canals….

My mode of transportation for the week...the only way to get around in Amsterdam, in my opinion. :)

The W Hotel Amsterdam.....drinks with a view.
A lovely place to take in the sunset over the city.

View from W Hotel.

Canal bridge lifting to let boats go under...

Canal crossing....

No trip to Amsterdam is complete without a visit to Winkel 43 for an Appeltaart.
This is always my first stop!

:) Yay!

IRELAND

Ireland is magical. And Dublin is one of my happy places.  It is always so good to see our family and to be reunited with friends.  It is a place where we get to spend quality time with people we love dearly.  And this year we were blessed with such good weather, and that is just an added bonus to put an even bigger smile on my face.  We had an amazing autumn visit…full of falling leaves, pumpkin spice, castles, big laughs, delicious meals, a few pints, and lots of love.

This trip was a short but sweet one.  Just long enough to remind me why I love it so much and yet not enough to make me sick of it; I’m already looking forward to next year’s visit.

Here is a little video of some of our visit.

On the flight to Dublin...it cannot get better than this.
I wish every flight was this good. :)
