To me, Tioman is a little slice of heaven on earth. And sailing there, well, that is just the most magical way to arrive. There is nothing quite as amazing as waking up on the boat, while on anchor in the most beautiful location of clear waters and lush jungles...jumping into the sea for a morning snorkel with thousands of colorful and playful tropical fish.
Fint and I excitedly set sail at a silly hour in the morning (still dark out) and a number of our friends also took their boats up for a few days. It was a blast as we all met up at the island for bbqs, drinks and laughs on the beach. Time just moves slower on the this island....and you never want to leave. I'm already counting down the days until we head there again...and just as I said last year, I definitely want to stay longer.
We were blessed with the weather again this year, nothing but clear skies and sunshine. By the end of our trip we were rejuvenated...completely relaxed and feeling better than ever! There is nothing as good for one's well being like a tropical island, one that is remote and undeveloped, to spend a few days away from the hectic everyday world. Days spent snorkeling, swimming, breathing in the wild jungle air. Nights spent laughing, floating and sleeping under the stars has a way of making everything stressful disappear...like the stress was never there in the first place. When we picked up anchor and headed back home, we were once again well balanced beings; mind, body and soul aligned.

Night Sailing...it is a little scary, yet so beautiful at the same time. Gliding through the black sea with no sight of land....it is peacefully quiet. With Fint at the helm, I just sit back and relax, breathing in the cool sea air and drink a cup of warm tea.

Changi Weekend
This past weekend a few of us got together and took our boats to Changi Yacht Club for an overnight mooring and a BBQ. It is a nice 4-6 hour sail from our home marina, so it makes for a wonderful day out. We invited some of our friends on board and had a beautiful 2 days of sailing. We had very nice wind, sunny skies...and no rain!

It is so nice to have so many great places to sail around us...one can never get bored. Let our adventures continue! ;)

A couple weekends ago Mel and Angie (friends of ours) had a joint birthday party...the theme was Pirates! So we dressed up in our pirate outfits and headed to their "ship" for a night full of rum and arrrrrgggh!
