Neptune Regatta 2018

February 2018

Here is a little video of some of our adventures on Neptune Regatta 2018
Don't Forget to set the quality to HD.

Neptune Regatta was so much fun last year that Fint and I knew we had to do it again for 2018!  And it was made even more special that Carm, John, and Andreas decided to join us along for the adventure aboard the Monster!

This year for the regatta we had perfect weather.  Sunny breezy days...zero rain and storms!  With around 25-30 knots of wind every day!  We couldn't have asked for better conditions.

Good weather, open sea, great company, lots of fun and laughs...I would do it all again if I could!

Sailing is something Fint and I really love...so getting to share such a wonderful time with some of the people we love the most makes it even more special. It also doesn't hurt that we visit some beautiful uninhabited islands and get to meet up on them with some of the most fun loving adventurers out there. :)

Sing...It all begins at the airport. :)

Arriving in Sing coffees to fight jetlag!

Welcome to Sing!

We sailed 2 days early to Nongsa Point Marina.  This gave the crew a couple days to get over jet lag, and enjoy the last bits of modern comforts in this lovely spot in Indonesia before we set sail.

First breakfast aboard.

Neptune skippers' meeting, before the race.

Rockstars!

Leg 1
First leg of the race was from Nongsa Point Marina to FishHead Island.
We had a great start to the race, lots of wind, lots of sun, and lots of positive energy flowing. :)

Sailors life is hard. :)

Relaxing and racing...nothing like sailing in a cruiser.

Love this crazy girl!

Leg 2
Fishhead Island to Neptune Island.  Another beautiful day for a sail...we had the luck of the Irish on this trip for weather!

Leg 3
This was the big one....the Race to Zero!  And the Leprechaun Pirates celebrated the new Shellbacks in style! :)  Pollywogs no more!!

Can you see the finish line yet????

Heading to the island for some Shellback celebrations!

Happy Shellbacks!

Fins Secret Floating Bar on the Equator...the best bar in the world for one day a year.

Free Day
Here are some of our adventures on our free day and with the locals at a Neptune Party.  The locals couldn't be more welcoming to us.  Meeting all of them on Neptune Island for a bbq was very special. What a day!

Leg 4
"Round the Islands Race"  This race we ended up racing around bouys.  Had a few spinnaker issues...but got them sorted and had a great day sailing.  We had an awesome crew!!

All the pretty spinnakers

Leg 5
Neptune Island to Mubut Island.  This was a long day of sailing...but we knew at the end of it all we would be treated to a bbq on Mubut Island.  So we sailored on. :)

A bro at each helm

 Working hard!

Leg 6
Mubut Island to Nongsa Point Marina. Last race of the trip.  Heading back to modern comforts and a proper shower!!!  Again we couldn't have gotten more blessed with the weather!  First sailing trip I can think of that had amazing wind, lots of sunshine and zero rain on the entire trip!!  Unheard of...but very welcomed!  This was the year for Neptune!

Bros and Beards! :)

Nongsa Marina to Sing...the home stretch

Back home to Sing
To say we are all exhausted by this point is an understatement. :)  This race is full on every day we are out.  It is a lot of work but even more fun...and made all the more fun for having such an awesome crew on board!!

Thanks to our amazing crew and family who made this trip truly unforgettable and amazing!!

Can't wait to see what next year's adventures hold!
