Island Hopping

ISLAND HOPPING 2016

This year's Island Hopping Trip was made even more fun and special due to Alice and Louise coming along for the voyage!!  They are such cool, fun girls to hang out with...we had a blast sailing, snorkeling, and just chilling out together.  I started to miss them as soon as they left!

Here is a little video I put together of our trip together...highlight for me...swimming with the sea turtle....but as the video shows, all of the moments were highlights!!

SINGAPORE

It all started here...pick up at the airport then on for a walk and a coffee!

The feeling of seeing the girls at the airport was beyond excitement!!  They were exhausted and dreaming of a nice soft bed after the long journey...but we had bigger plans to help get them over their jet lag quickly.  We headed straight to Starbucks on the east coast beach for a caffeine kick, then a gentle stroll around Sentosa Island, dinner in the marina and then a late night trip to the shops to pick up everything they would need for the sailing adventure ahead!  We kept them up until around 11:00pm...and they were exhausted by the end. ;)

No time for jet lag girls! ;)  Finally home, and ready for bed!

What better to beat jet lag, than a early jungle hike?
Monkeys up close and personal (dang it Jeremy!)  :)

Burritos in Chinatown!

We need our daily dose of vitamin sea. :)

SIBU ISLAND

Music Suggestion while looking at Sibu photos:

Our first island stop was Sibu Island.  The bohemian, chilled out resort of Rimba was our main hangout. Nothing quite like relaxing on a island filled with grass roofed huts and chill people to start a sailing holiday off right!  This is one of my favorite resorts ever.  I can get lost in time and space here.  I can zone out to the point of complete and utter relaxation and rejuvenation.  And with Alice and Louise with us...we chilled out to the max.  Drinks in hand, books in our faces, lounged out on the pillows on the floor....and a sprinkle of yoga and snorkeling mixed in.  Shout out to the amazing bartender extraordinaire Grant and the super sweet Jenny and cool Carly!

I'm Sibu dreaming right now.......

Snorkeling fun.

The most stunning sunsets.

We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.

RAWA ISLAND

Here are some steel drums to get you into the Rawa state of mind while viewing the photos:

Rawa is completely Caribbean vibes.  The beaches are some of the most beautiful I have seen.  Postcard perfect...it is the quintessential beach [wish you were here] postcard.

Rawa has a lot to offer, amazing snorkeling in crystal clear waters, the softest whitest sandy beaches, water slides, chilled out beach resorts, jungle hikes with awesome views on the peak, and more places to lounge than days in the week.

Rawa....I wish I was there.

Eeeek...sea urchins.  Up close and personal.

Clown fish always get a thumbs up!

Fish....thousands of fish.

That mermaid life though.

TIOMAN ISLAND

Here is a little Bob Marley to chill you out while looking at the Tioman photos:

Rustic Tioman Island...Tioman is that cool older brother of the islands.  It's not trying to be anything other than what it is; a chilled island, where one goes to get away from it all. It has lived, it knows whats out there, and it has decided to just be.  No frills, no trying to please everyone...just come to visit, be on slow island time, relax, and then leave it as you found it. Tioman has amazing snorkeling, long stretches of beaches with coral reefs not far off them. Plenty of fish and a coral reef that has been getting healthier and healthier with every visit that we've made.  Their efforts in conservation has really paid off.  And on this trip we were very blessed...we swam with a sea turtle!!!  Yes a sea turtle!  It was a dreamy, magical moment...a precious memory that I will forever hold so close to my heart.

At the Juara Turtle Project, a very worthy and educational stop in Tioman.  They are doing great work and for more info on their mission and efforts click HERE.

This is what a happy boat looks like...

The excitement after just swimming with a sea turtle!!!!

SAILING
Here is a little sailing tune...to help you feel the wind and sun on your face...

Here are a few photos from our voyages to and from all the islands....as you see, it was tough going.  :) These are a few photos from our 9 days at sea.

She stood in the storm & when the wind did not blow her away, she adjusted her sails.

SINGAPORE

Here is a local Singapore band to check out while browsing these Singapore photos:

Singapore is a fun, modern beautiful city.  A vibrant city full of lux living and well worth a tour around.  There is never a shortage of things to do....and we gave it our best efforts but there is still lots more to do on the next visit! :)
